Managerial Experience

• 1991 - 1999 : Chief Executive Officer (General Manager) of Consorcio Nacional de Seguros . Main officer of the largest insurance company in Chile:  US$1.8 billion in assets, US$200  million in equity, US$250 millions annual sales (premium), 1.300 employees, 22 branches along the country.
• 1986 -  1991 : Planning and Development Manager of Consorcio Nacional de Seguros. Responsible for the valuation and development of different projects, ranging from the creation of a sister pension insurance company (Compensa) to the valuation of investment projects and insurance products (annuities, death and disability coverage for AFP affiliates, reinsurance, universal life insurance, etc.)
• 1984 - 1986 : Head of the Insurance Studies Department at the Superintendencia de Valores y Seguros (Securities and Insurance Supervising Authority). Responsible for the design and implementation of secondary regulation of the insurance market, and for the proposal of technical reforms on the insurance law. Responsible also for technical studies on issues like mortality tables, reserve requirements, reinsurance, investment portfolio valuations, etc.
